BPTEC-DNW Engineering Ltd. shortened its name to BPTEC Engineering Ltd. As with a number of times in its history BPTEC Engineering successfully weathered an economic downturn, as well as the unprecedented CoronaVirus pandemic. Menzies LRT Bridge. This bridge was the first segmental precast concrete bridge to be constructed in Western Canada. In addition to this, The Engineers Collaborative (TEC) joined forces with Duthie Newby and Associates Ltd. to design the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre. The joint venture was known as M. D. Engineering Ltd. In 1980, Duthie Newby and Associates Ltd. became Duthie Newby Weber and Associates Ltd. McBride Ragan Consulting Engineers Ltd. was the first of the three to commence operations and was founded in 1961. During this decade, Duthie Newby Newton & Associates Ltd. (1963) and Bolter Parish Trimble Ltd. (1966) came on stream. Later in this decade Duthie Newby Newton & Associates Ltd. became Duthie Newby and Associates Ltd.
