The relocation of Memorial Composite High School to the site of the existing Westerra Campus will provide the Parkland School Division with a larger facility able to accommodate 1,500 students and 100 staff members.
This project includes a complete renovation of the existing 10,000 square metre facility as well as an addition of over 4,300 square metres to house the gymnasium and science wing.
The project is on track to achieve LEED Silver rating. In order to satisfy the criteria for daylighting in the existing structure sawtooth clerestory windows were added to the roof. As well, sections of the existing brick masonry walls were removed and replaced with steel frames to house additional windows.
